Twenty six qualifying teams from around the nation played tee’d up for the 2023 Drummond Golf Survivor Golf Series Grand Final at the beautiful Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course in Port Douglas. 

Exceptional golf was witnessed as the Grand Final was a highly contested battle all day. 

There was a fluctuating leaderboard with several teams in contention. Team ‘Talk Birdie to Me’ got off to a flying start taking early control but were pegged back by ‘Hard Hitters’ and the Sultans of Swing, and as the day progressed, different teams would excel and take the lead. 

With only a few holes to play, it looked like there would be three teams heading for a play-off however, local team ‘Fine Cotton’ put a stop to that by birdying the last three holes to secure victory and take the championship title with a score of Nett 11 under. 

‘Fine Cotton’s Jason and Chris were presented with the Survivor Golf trophy, a champagne spray and some amazing prizes from our fabulous and extremely generous sponsors.

It was great to see so many spectators come and watch the golf and enjoy the day. A highlight for the fans was the Survivor Golf 47m party hole which had a great atmosphere and was loads of fun thanks to beverage partners  Diablo and CUB for making this a huge success.

Survivor Golf aims to make amateur golfers feel like professionals. In line with this, each  group had an independent scorer. This role was filled by volunteers from Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club and they did a wonderful job.

Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club and their amazing staff presented the course in superb condition and were wonderful hosts of the event. 

Through the generosity of many people we were able to raise a significant amount of money for Kick On Charity with the Calcutta auction alone raising over $7000 for mental health awareness!

A great weekend was had by all and it couldn’t be possible without the support of all our players, partners and sponsors involved.
