Ball Hunters take out the last qualifer!

November 18, 2023

Round 25 was played at El Arish Golf Club in beautiful sunny North Queensland and it was the last opportunity for players to qualify for the Drummond Golf Survivor Golf Series Final.  A sunny 35 degree day saw sixty four golfers eager and ready to compete on this tricky golf course which was presented in absolutely beautiful condition.

A special thanks to all the volunteers who  were wonderful providing everyone with delicious bacon and egg burgers and sausages thanks to Mighty Nice Meats!!!

We would like to thank our fantastic event sponsors: Cairns Advanced Dental Laboratory , CUB and Fish Feen. Your support is greatly appreciated.
All teams got off to a great start on this tight, challenging course. At the halfway point, we had nine teams within one shot of each other.
With three holes to go, it came down to two teams, the Ball Hunters (Douglas and Jhye Bloomfield) and the local legends Dangerous Affairs (Troy Koop and Kelly Cavallaro).

It was a nail biting finish and we witnessed some spectacular, tense, exciting golf!
Troy and Kelly birdied two of the last three holes to finish with a great score of Nett 11 under. Standing on the last tee, the Bloomfield’s had to make a bogey to win the tournament. After a great tee shot, a shaky second shot and then a chip shot that left a four foot putt for victory! Jhye Bloomfield sank the putt to take out the victory!

Congratulations to the Ball Hunters who finished Nett 12 under and secured themselves a place in the Drummond Golf Survivor Golf Series Grand Final at Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course, Port Douglas. A great day was had by all! Happy birthday Harry! Thank you to  El Arish Golf Club and all their staff for hosting our event.
