Last weekend saw the Survivor Golf Series head to the historic Millaa Millaa Golf Club situated in the Tablelands of Cairns. Golfers battled all elements including wind, rain, fog and even the occasional wandering heifer strolling across the rolling fairways.
The morning field sore 40 golfers take on the fog and cold to shoot some impressive scores. It was team TWO DOGS (Paul Posselt and Alan Hapgood) and HOT SHOTS OF WUHAN (Rauno Lehalstu and Mark Schafer) both finishing at NETT -9 Under par and forcing themselves into an epic 3 hole playoff in front of the afternoon crowd. Both teams made solid pars on playoff hole 1 forcing a 90m shootout for playoff 2.
TWO DOGS were in serious control knocking it to 6 feet from pin and THE HOTSHOTS 35 foot from hole. To the eruption of the crowd Rauno sunk a 35 foot bomb which put serious pressure on Paul and Harpy’s 6 foot putt. Even though it felt like 12 foot, It was Paul with ice in his veins hitting the back of the hole which sent both teams to a NTP final shootout.
With momentum Paul hit the final shot once again to 6 foot evoking a huge response from the local Millaa Millaa crowd. TWO DOGS booking themselves into a finals birth at The Sheraton Grand Mirage in December
