The Drummond Golf Survivor Series proudly hosted the third annual Taste of Port Douglas Golf Day with celebrity chefs and players hitting the fairways for 9 epic holes of fun in the sun at Palmer Sea Reef in beautiful Tropical North QLD.
While the event is not a qualifier for the Survivor Series Grand Final in December, players had an epic experience non the less, in this 9 hole, 4 person Ambrose event, which, in true Survivor style, came down to the wire!
Plenty of awesome scores were posted, putts dropped and bombs hit but at the end of the day it was newly nested Port Douglas locals the “Club Chuckers” who reigned supreme with a net 27 score to win the day by a mere one stroke! The squad picking up plenty of food and wine vouchers to the Lagoon Restaurant at the Sheraton Grand Mirage, Port Douglas, for their efforts!
On-course there was plenty of action, packed into the 9 hole comp. 3 tee boxes treated players to some tasty food and beverage samples with Zinc Restaurant setting up a mini kitchen on the 3rd tee to delight players with exceptional food tastings from the far North Queensland region.
The second tee saw Estrella’s pop up bar with plenty of players popping in for an iced cold Estella Beer to settle the nerves and fuel the drives!
Then on the 9th tee it was all party time with beats and banging cocktails from the Diablo portable cocktail bar. Espresso Martini anyone?
In true Survivor fashion there were prizes to be won on every hole with players walking away with a selection of stunning wines from our good friends at Shining Rock Wines. Boxes and boxes of Taylormade TP5 golf balls thanks to Ken Frost Homes. Restaurant vouchers to one of Survivor Golf’s favourite places to eat up north – Zinc Restaurant! Boxes of tasty Estrella Beer and a selection of delicious mini cocktail packs thanks to our mates at Diablo Beverages.
All in all there was not a face left without a smile on completion of the round and a huge shoutout goes to Sherrie and her team at the Palmer Sea Reef, fantastic service as always and some amazing food from the kitchen for our guests to experience post event!
