After an epic Victorian leg the Drummond Golf Survivor Series headed back to its heartland of Far North Queensland for the final qualifier of the 2022 season where not two but three qualifiers would be drafted into December’s grand final.

Perfect blue skies and sunshine under humid conditions along with an ice cold CBCO Beer and Diablo Cocktail greet golfers on course as the field began to kick into gear with some amazing shots and scores at the turn.

It was a fast start by the Explore Golf FNQ team who blasted out of the gates to -9 after 11 but a costly bogey saw the pair chased back down by an angry pack of possible qualifiers.

The day saw plenty of big birdies, bad bones and a couple of epic eagles as players enjoyed a super day on course before heading to the Oasis Bar for an after party suited to a king.

By play’s end the Explore FNQ squad had done enough to take top spot on the day and qualify for the final by two shots over the Nice Garry’s and Angry Birdies.

However the latter were sent back to the 18th tee for an epic playoff for the final room at The Sheraton Grand Mirage, Port Douglas when the series heads back to Port Douglas for the final on Sunday, Dec 4 – 2022.

After a pair of pars the two teams headed back to the 18th tee where the Nice Garry’s almost holed out on the second playoff hole in what was yet another awesome playoff with crowds pack around the 18th green at the majestic Mirage Country Club.

With the shot hitting the NTP Nice Garry’s picked up the accommodation for the final but the Angry Birds still qualified and will be looking to take the chocolates on Dec 4 as we crown the 2022 Champion in Port Douglas.

The final round of the 2022 Drummond Golf Survivor Series will take teams back to the Mirage Country Club as each qualifier battles it out to be crowned Survivor Golf Champion on December 4, 2022.

Non qualifiers are encouraged to come down and enjoy the festivities, watch some amazing (and sometimes not so amazing!) golf and enjoy 3 days (Fri-Sun) of festivities at the Survivor Golf Grand Final weekend on Dec 2-4, 2022!
