Eastern Golf Club had it all. Strawberries, Wine, Formula 1 Cars and 40 teams battling out the freezing winds and threat of a spring cyclone in the Yarra Valley.
A hotly contested field saw multiple lead changes early on in this event with Fleet Plant Hire having multiple teams represent and scoring well early in the round.
This event saw Cam Webb from TaylorMade set up an incredible activation of guessing your TaylorMade Stealth drive.
This saw many people overestimate their own abilities and mis-guess by many metres. The winners received an amazing Stealth Driver as a prize. Rhys Bawden took out the prize for longest drive but the best was yet to come.
At the hallway point there were 6 teams equal on the Survivor Golf live leaderboard with all teams juggling the tricky conditions and tactically working their way through the drive sharing requirements.
And then…sideways rain. Within 15 minutes the course was flooded with a complete Melbourne Style downpour. Thankful all teams had completed the minimum required 13 holes which made the event a result.
After the rain eased and the dust settled, we were left the first ever Eastern Survivor Golf champions. Rhys Bawden and Jade Brooks from Fleet Plant Hire were left with Champagne covered clothes and a golden ticket to Port Douglas representing daily sponsors Fleet Plant Hire.
