What an absolute pleasure it was to take the Drummond Golf Survivor Series to one of the most beautiful, and remote golf courses in Australia – the Gove Peninsula, at the northeastern corner of East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory.
Brought to you by our naming rights sponsor Darkys Mechanical Services the event was a sellout and truly one to remember.
The 9 hole beachfront course was in prime condition and we couldn’t have asked for a better 32 Degree “Winter’s day”. The sun was shining, the beers were flowing, and a quick look around the sold out event would have you see a mixture of ear to ear grins, and determined faces all trying to get their hands on the GOLDEN TICKET to Port Douglas.
Taking out bragging rights, and the chocolates was “Sling Kings” with an impressive 12 Under score. Watch out for these gun slingers in the Finals. They have the whole Gove community backing them in! We can’t wait to get back next year with a few extra days to take full advantage of the fishing and diving in Paradise… Once the tournament is done of course. ;-)
Round 20 saw a return to the third year for the always popular Darwin event at Darwin Golf Club.
The event went down to the wire but a string of 7 straight nett birdies coming how saw local members the Dougie Dogs pick up the flights and accommodation to the Grand Final in Port Douglas on December 10 at Palmer Sea Reef GC!
